    MarvelClient Architecture

Simple to deploy and manage, yet sophisticated in its capabilities! MarvelClient is the World's fastest IBM Lotus Notes client management solution with our built in zipping technology and incremental update architecture minimizes your network impact!

One single DLL added to EXTMGR_ADDINS in notes.ini and deployed to either the Notes program- or data-directory is all that's needed. No local database requirements, no startup database, no additional Windows components.

Built-in MarvelClient deployment via mail or post-open template. Other automated roll out mechanisms are available for customers with SMS, Altiris, LANDesk etc capabilities.

Two notes.ini entries needed for installation (EXTMGR_ADDINS and configuration database) - not a single one more - your notes.ini stays clean and under your control.

MarvelClient works with the original Lotus Notes login dialog - no login dialog replacement or fake, no security risks, no authentication limitations; works with other 3rd party authentification solutions. single sign on (SSO), smartcards, etc. - 100% Notes security

The MarvelClient configuration database is multilingual and currently supports English, German and Japanese. The clientside DLL works with any IBM Lotus Notes client language.

    • 5 MB of local disk space needed on clients at most
    • 20 MB of disk space on Domino servers + approx. 70 KB per user in monitoring database

With our automatic MarvelClient version upgrade, so you never have to worry about updating your users!
At this point your IBM Lotus Notes clients automatically connect to the MarvelClient configuration database to check for new changes either:

    • during client startup,
    • when the first server connection is made (for clients that do not have a network connection during client startup)
    • during the entire notes session
    • and/or at client shutdown

Stay in full control, at any time!

MarvelClient allows you to precisely define when a particular action is supposed to run, whether it’s just once or a recurring event. You can even specify that actions run in realtime for true control over connectivity, traffic and disk-space consumption. With its unique realtime control feature, MarvelClient addresses one of the administrator’s main problems — that many of these settings and objects can only be changed or enforced in single, particular moments in time.

    One-time changes:

Best for migrations, server consolidations, recertifications and changes that need to run once only. Your clients can easily run over 10,000 MarvelClient changes per second to move along mail and application moves, without negatively impacting your client base at all.

Implementing one-time changes also ensures virtually unlimited freedom in performing server based tasks, such as moving, renaming or consolidating of applications and servers while clients are seamlessly synchronized with any server renames and database moves.

Persistent or "self-healing" changes come in three flavors:

    • at every client start up
    • once a day
    • in freely configurable intervals such as on the 1st of every month

For example, you can use MarvelClient to persistently set:

    • The mail bookmark is always in the top-most position on the bookmark bar, even if the user deletes it
    • Local mail file replicas are always present, always replicate with the users home server and always has replication enabled, even if the user changes or deletes it
    • HR users always have an HR workspace tab, with the 10 HR apps right next to each other, even if the users move or delete the workspace page or icons
    • Desktop, laptop and Citrix users have a certain set of locations with specific settings, even if they delete or modify them
